Smart Vitamins is a Spin-off company from the University of Santiago de Compostela that has developed an innovative technology to treat and prevent autoimmune and inflammatory diseases using nanovehicles based on essential nutrients.
Current treatments are mainly focused on broad anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive therapy, leading to harmful off-target effects. In contrast, the use of the Smart Delivery of Nutrients (SDN) Technology™ enables to enhance the delivery of the active compounds to the immune system, avoiding secondary effects and restoring immune tolerance.
Based on the demonstrated potential of the SDN Technology™ in several applications, Smart Vitamins has generated a robust R&D pipeline and is advancing several development candidates in the field of nutraceutics, cosmeceutics and pharmaceutical drugs.
